Daily: The Bread Plate is NOT for Trash

Last night, we had an etiquette dinner to learn how to be etiquetted. Just wait: you’ll find that word in Webster’s one day. The lady kept on emphasizing over and over that, “The bread plate is not for trash. Your trash gets tucked under the bread plate.” I had the sudden urge to place everything on my bread plate, even though I’d never thought of that before. Here’s the breakdown:

Tee: Garage sale (Ann Taylor LOFT)
Skirt: Simply Vera (Kohl’s)
Tights: TJ Maxx (Hue)
Heels: Banana Republic
Necklaces: Gap/Garage sale
Ring: Banana Republic
Vintage Clutch: Goodwill

The dinner was supposed to be business professional. I kind of just wore what I wanted to wear, which were these heels. Yes, I based my whole outfit around my heels because it’s currently not snowy and icy outside! I wish the quality of these photos were better, but they were taken under a street lamp outside. Sometimes you just have to make due with what you have.

Isn’t this clutch great? I bought it at Goodwill a few weeks ago, and I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to pull it out. I felt so city chic in this outfit, even though I currently go to school in the middle of nowhere. Quite literally.

My goal for today? Practice what I learned last night, which means eating my food politely and (consequently) painfully slow.
