Daily: Subtlety is Underrated

I will admit that I am ready for spring. This is a momentous occasion that happens very rarely because I am such a winter-lover. But we’ve been having this crazy, back-and-forth weather. One day, we have a winter storm warning. The next day, it’s a high of 50 degrees with a flash flood warning because of all the rain we’re supposed to get (like today). So here is my subtle tribute to the spring weather I hope we get soon. Here’s the breakdown:

Striped Tee: Garage sale (Gap)
Jeans: TJ Maxx (American Eagle)
Boots: Jessica Simpson (Macy’s)
Necklace: Gift
Bag: Salvation Army (Tignanello)

No matter the year and the fashions, springtime to me always means nautical-inspired style. The striped shirt I bought this past summer I thought was the perfect topper to my 70’s-inspired wide-leg jeans, which are making a comeback. When I was younger, I was not a fan of the 70’s, but as I’ve been going through more and more blogs and seeing the wide-leg jeans on everybody, I’ve really come to realize how much I like them. They are ridiculously flattering. They’re even better when you’ve had them for at least 5 years, and you’ve kept them for some reason. That reason is that you knew in your subconscious that you’d wear them again 5 years later. And you’d miraculously be able to fit in to them. Holla!

Happy Monday, everybody! I have some really cool events coming up this week with excuses to dress up for them, so expect more dresses and skirts this week! So excited!
