Spring Break: Day at the Museum

My pictures look sunny, but most of the day was cloudy. I took advantage of the sunshine late in the afternoon to have my dad take my pictures before the thunderstorms came later. Tornado watches and warnings were popping up all over the place, but luckily, everything had already moved east of us. Today is supposed to bring cool air, which means in tomorrow’s post, I will be in my trusty jeggings and a sweater. Here’s the breakdown:

Striped Tee: Garage sale (Gap)
Skirt: TJ Maxx
Flats: TJ Maxx (Steve Madden)
Necklaces: Gap/Garage sale
Ring: Banana Republic
Bag: Goodwill

Yes, you would be correct in noting that this is the same shirt two days in a row. Some people think that’s gross, but I think it’s practical, especially when 1) I really like the shirt and 2) I’m attempting to pack light for a trip. Repeats are sometimes necessary.

We spent most of the morning in the Tennessee State Museum, so I wanted something chic and relaxed for going through the different exhibits. My cute red flats (which my dad called “very red”) added a perfect pop of color. So spring and so nautical.

Check out a few of the pictures I took from the museum. The first is of an old, beautiful watch (quite fitting considering how much I love watches).

These beautiful vases would have been displayed in wealthier homes during the South’s reconstruction after the Civil War.

The museum was featuring an Egyptian exhibit, full of amazingly detailed replicas and even a real mummy.
