Pinspired: Layers of prints

If you couldn’t tell from the plethora of thrifted finds from this week’s posts, my mom and I did some major damage this past weekend at our local thrifting hot-spots. If you’re new to the blog, thrifting is totally my thing. I love finding unique items, vintage items and items that are multifunctional (my own buzzword). Here’s the breakdown:

Blazer: Tahari via Goodwill
Polka-Dot Blouse: Vintage via Goodwill
Gingham Blouse: Gap via Garage sale
Denim: American Rag via Goodwill
Booties: Target (last year)
Bag: Brahmin (c/o Vogue)
Sunnies: Forever 21
Necklace: American Eagle

The best thing about spring is the need for layers, which always pushes me to rethink pattern-mixing. Luckily, I had some pinspiring help from this particular pin. Never in my previous-to-style-blogging life would I have ever paired these three prints, patterns and textures together, but the relative smallness of the print, the subtlety of the textures and the colors being from the same family come together to “make it work” (as Tim Gunn would say).¬†
