My First Sephora Purchase
I've always had a fond love of makeup ever since I was a kid. I collected LipSmackers (Dr. Pepper was my favorite) and nail polish, and I had a few traumatic experiences in seventh grade with eyeliner, concealer, and really bad blonde highlights. Growing up I lived only where drugstore makeup was available without having to drive an hour or two to get to a Sephora, an Ulta, or a department store.
After graduating college and moving to a much larger city than anywhere I'd lived within the past decade, it took me a few trips to Sephora, walking away empty-handed, before I made my first big makeup purchase: the Urban Decay Naked2 Palette. I remember feeling slightly shocked walking away with a piece of makeup that I paid more for than any other cosmetic I'd ever purchased before. However, I would do it all again because my first-ever high-end palette is still one that I reach for frequently. Even at 22, I knew myself and my tastes, and the palette still performs beautifully and fits into my everyday makeup routine flawlessly to this day. (Oh, and I ended up later on purchasing the Naked2 Basics Palette, and it's just as good and as versatile.)
