Outerwear Week: Missing Buttons

Yesterday we had about four inches of snow in less than 12 hours. It was glorious, and yes, I mean that seriously. If it’s going to be cold, it may as well snow! Plus it gives me a chance to wear my boots and to get some good use out of them. I’m always up for wearing boots! Here’s the breakdown:

Coat: Garage sale (Steve Madden)
Hat: Handmade
Scarf: Handmade
Gloves/Mittens: Gift (TJ Maxx)
Boots: Famous Footwear

This jacket was one of the steals of the summer. We found this coat with three out of four buttons missing, and it was marked at $5. Yeah, right. My mom talked them down to $2. So I got a perfectly good winter coat for two bucks, and my mom sewed some buttons on. Problem solved.

I made my scarf over Christmas break, and it’s my mom’s own pattern. Cool, right? Even better is the fact that you can get the pattern for free at her blog, so if you’re into knitting and want to knit a scarf, check out the pattern here. My hat was my first knitting project that I had done for awhile (think at least four years), and it got me totally hooked on knitting last year. Now I am an official addict. Right now on my plate are two sweaters and a bag, and I’m almost finished with one of the sweaters!
