Daily: McCartney...Not Paul

I’m a big fan of The Beatles. When we played “A Hard Day’s Night” in 8th grade jazz band, that was a defining moment of my life. Ok, so it wasn’t exactly a defining moment, but it was definitely fun. But this post isn’t about Paul McCartney and The Beatles. Here’s the breakdown:

Dress: Elder Beerman
Sweater: TJ Maxx (The Limited)
Tights: Kohl’s
Flats: Payless
Ring: Banana Republic
Necklace: Gap

Today’s outfit inspiration came from two things: a presentation I have to give, and Stella McCartney, who is Paul McCartney’s designing daughter. At the Stella McCartney Fall 2010 show, sweaters and vests as outerwear were the new thing, so I thought I’d try it out. Kind of. I will admit that I wore a jacket on top of this because it was a cold morning.

I also really love the minimalism trend Stella McCartney showed for Fall 2010. I’ve come to realize how many printless shirts I own, so maybe this minimalism thing would be a good thing to adopt every day. Well, maybe not every day…

As a side note, the flash was on for the pictures, which is why my face looks washed out and why my gold flats appear white. I promise they’re gold. They had been black boots earlier in the morning, but they hurt my feet. So they changed into comfy gold flats.
