Mask While You Sleep
As I've grown older, caring for my skin has taken a higher priority in my life . . . but finding the time to do so can be quite tricky. I was first introduced to sleeping masks a couple of years ago when The Body Shop released their bouncy sleeping mask (which, by the way, I've used since then and loved). If you can get deep hydration and other benefits while you sleep, I'm down to save a little time and cut out a step or two during my nighttime routine.
I did a pretty thorough skincare clean-out recently, though, which unearthed quite a few products that were past their expiration date, including said mask. Just in time, the Sephora spring sale rolled around, and I added to my cart the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask, which has been quite buzzed about since it came out. I've been using it for a solid month now, so I wanted to share my thoughts.
To start with, the packaging is gorgeous—very vanity-worthy. It's a hefty glass jar and comes in the cutest box with a little scoop to keep things as sanitary as possible. Oh, and it smells like summer: watermelon and cucumber! It claims to work for all skin types, from dry to oily (which is the category my skin falls under once the weather gets warmer).
The mask itself is surprisingly lightweight, and a little goes a very long way. When I took photos of me applying the mask, I definitely used too much and had to take it down my neck for the product to absorb fully. It doesn't leave my face sticky or greasy (which a lot of hydrating, glow-inducing masks do to my skin), but it instantly makes my skin feel smooth and really nourished. The result the next morning is a fresh face that look extra hydrated, and every time I apply this mask, I have a really good makeup day after wearing it overnight.
The mask itself is a bite out of your wallet, so if you're intrigued by the thought of a sleeping mask but don't want to spend much, there is a smaller size available. It's a time-saving luxury and one that's well worth the investment if you're looking to add a hydrating mask into your skincare routine. I'm hooked!
