Makeup and Skincare I've Finished Lately

Let’s talk bad habits, shall we? I think we all have our fair share, but my most recent bad habit has been finishing makeup or skincare and thinking, Oh, I’ll share about this on my Instagram stories tomorrow. Then those items sat on my bathroom counter, collecting dust, for . . . months. Then I put them in a drawer in my vanity. It was only when I reached for one of these items, not remembering that it was empty, that I realized this was a bad habit I needed to quit. I went through my drawers and gathered everything I’d finished lately.

Makeup Empties

I finished quite a few items that have been staples in my summer makeup routine, from Erborian BB Creme, the best BB cream that helps me stay matte on even the hottest, most humid days, to NARS Laguna Bronzer, which seems intimidatingly dark but is actually quite wearable for even the fairest skin. I emptied out my beloved Coty Airspun Powder, which is hands down the best powder for oily-skinned, budget-conscious ladies. The L.A. Girl Pro Coverage Liquid Foundation in White has taken its last breath, and this is such a good lightening agent for foundations that I can’t go long without it.

My L’Oreal Lash Paradise Primer dried out after a solid six months of use. It’s one of my top two drugstore mascara primers. Also in my top two in another category is the Lorac Front of the Line Pro Liquid Liner. It’s perfectly inky and easy to use, and although I’m using my other favorite liquid liner at the moment, this is a strong contender for a repurchase. My Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel in Clear was so well-loved that it wasn’t clear anymore, and if you’re looking for a brow gel with serious hold, this one won’t fail you. The only disappointing product I put to rest was the ELF Instant Lift Brow Pencil. I wasn’t a fan of how difficult it was to apply, and I’ve found better brow pencils at the drugstore that align with the cost of this one.

Skincare Empties

So while technically not skincare, you could easily use the Morphe Continuous Setting Mist as a treatment. I loved this setting spray, but because it’s an aerosol, I ran through it incredibly quickly compared to a non-aerosol mist. I also finished the First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy A.M. Gel Cream and loved this. It’s cooling and de-puffing, and my only regret is that I didn’t leave it in the fridge to make it extra cooling.

My final two skincare items that gave up the ghost weren’t my favorites. I had high hopes for the Aveeno MaxGlow Infusion Drops after hearing so many positive reviews about it, but it didn’t give me the glow I was hoping for. I was also rooting for the Sephora Extra-Gentle Bi-Phase Makeup Remover to perform miracles when it came to removing my eye makeup without burning my eyes and giving them that gross, oily film, but this one didn’t live up to its name, unfortunately.

Now that I’ve finally posted mini reviews about these, I can officially put these empty tubes and jars into the trash and make room for my fall makeup. What have you finished lately? Did you love it or hate it? Let me know!
