Perfect, Hydrated Winter Skin
One of my goals this year has been to get my skin under control (as I mentioned in this post). Last year was a terrible year for breakouts I just couldn't get rid of, but the past few months I've seen a big difference in my skin. It's far from perfect, but I'm working on it and have found a few products that help my skin heal and give it that glowing, dewey look.
- Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream 0.2: I've had semi-good luck with retinol products before. Retinol is known to smooth skin out and help heal blemishes, but I typically found out after a few weeks of use that the retinols I was using were a little too harsh on my skin, particularly on the skin around my lips. I started testing the Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream 0.2* and am surprised at how gentle yet effective it is. I haven't yet experienced dryness yet and have been using it a full month, and when I wake up in the morning, my skin looks a little plumper, brighter, and more refined. Even at 25, I'm trying to do as much as I can to prevent signs of aging, and this is a great anti-aging product. If you want to give this formula a test, you can get 25% off now through February 18, thanks to Lumixyl, LovelySkin, and People StyleWatch!
- Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil: Once I've applied the Lumixyl cream at night, I like to boost the moisture to my skin by adding an oil on top. This is also a brightening product and smells incredible. It's very citrusy and applies to the skin a bit . . . orange. But don't worry; that orange goes away within a few minutes. The oil is nourishing and sinks in quickly, which is what I look for in an oil for my already oily skin type.
- Strivectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream: I like to cap off my winter evening skincare routine with a healthy dose of heavy moisturizer. This one in particular is fantastic because it works in conjunction with the Lumixyl cream to prevent signs of aging, but it also pairs well with the oil to provide a huge boost of moisture to my skin (and a little goes a long way with this cream).
How do you keep your skin perfected and hydrated in the dead of winter?
