Daily: Drape and Tuck

As nutty as this sounds, I absolutely love the ability and the reason to dress up every day for work! After being on a college campus for three years, this internship is a nice break from the standard undergraduate outfits of sweats (for some) and jeans (for me). If you’re worried I’ve forgotten my jean-wearing days, fear not, my friends; fall is coming sooner than we think, and I have one more year of college left. Here’s the breakdown:

Shirt: Gift
Skirt: Goodwill
Heels: TJ Maxx (Nine West)
Tote: Brahmin (c/o Vogue)
Necklace: Target
Watch: Garage sale
Bracelet: My grandmother’s

For my second day on the job, I was worried that the print on this dress might be too loud; then I realized that I liked it too much, so I wore it. I was thinking of pairing it with the standard neutral, like olive or navy, but I wanted a bright pop of color. This fushia shirt did the trick, and it has the perfect amount of drape to tuck into a pencil skirt, giving it real contrast to the structure of the skirt. If only I had some Christian Louboutins…I guess these Nine West heels will do for now.
