Daily: Finally Finished

My hat is finally finished! After at least three more hours of knitting today, I knit that last sitched and sewed up the ends. I probably put about 50 hours worth of work into the hat (and this is my second one!) I’m planning on knitting a brown one, too, just so I’ll have plenty of options. It’s a little hard to see because of the black color of the hat, but it looks like there are tiny holes throughout the hat (except for the ribbing), which gives it an eyelet look. I love this hat!

The pattern can be found in Vogue Knitting International Fall 2009. I used Kauri fingering-weight yarn, which is a blend of merino wool, possum from New Zealand (sounds gross, I know, but it’s really soft), and a little bit of silk. Because of the wool in it, it’s definitely more of a fall/winter hat, so don’t expect it to be in many of my outfits when it’s 90 degrees outside. But I thought that I should share it with you today!

Thanks, Knitting Today, for having the supplies and the sample that started my knit-hat craze!
