Current Mask Favorites
The dry, western air of Utah really did a number on my used-to-humidity skin. After getting back to Omaha, I went into mask mode and pulled out my trusty favorites I'd been using before the trip, knowing they worked well.
I have oily, acne-prone skin, and while the dryness didn't change the acne-prone part, it certainly made the rest of my skin quite flakey and parched. Bringing mattifying primers and foundations wasn't my smartest idea. To rejuvenate my poor skin, I applied StriVectin's Instant Revitalizing Mask. This mask brightens and adds some moisture and plumpness back into the skin. When I woke up the next morning, my skin felt back to its old self, and my makeup went on better than ever.
For any blemished areas, I applied either Mario Badescu's Drying Mask or Origins' Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask. Both of these are quite drying, so if you plan on trying either of them, make sure you only apply them to blemish-prone areas. Mario Badescu's Drying Mask is the most intense of the two; I notice an immediate different in my skin when I wake up the morning after. Origins' Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask isn't quite as harsh, so if you're having a particularly bad time of the month and need a little zit-fighting help, you could probably get away with applying this every day.
