Afternoon in suburbia

It’s official: I am in love with the Chicago area (and I’m sure that love is going to grow later on today, as my friends and I are headed downtown for the afternoon). Yesterday we spent the day exploring suburbia neighborhoods, like Naperville, Wheaton and Glen Ellyn. The downtown areas were charming, and I’d love to live in each town for a few years to experience the towns year-round. Here’s the breakdown:

Blouse: Banana Republic via Garage sale
Shorts: Charlotte Russe (similar here)
Flats: Relativity via Carsons
Hat: Garage sale (similar here)
Bag: Garage sale
Sunnies: Franco Sarto via Marshalls
Necklace: Kohl’s
Watch: Garage sale
Bracelets: Forever 21/My grandma’s/Goodwill¬†
Lips: Estee Lauder’s Melon
Nails: Essie’s Orange It’s Obvious¬†

Walking around in the summertime is beautiful, but the heat is absolutely stifling right now. I tried to stay as cool as possible in this linen blouse, but the downside is that linen wrinkles so easily. So please excuse my wrinkles. These lace shorts, however, were just what the doctor ordered for such a humid day. I’ll definitely be sporting a similar outfit this afternoon to walk around downtown Chicago.
