Summer Foundation Favorites
There's nothing quite like high temps and the humidity percentage near 100 to make a girl want to wear as few layers of makeup as possible. I've made the transition to wearing BB cream almost exclusively this summer, which is quite the swap from last year's slightly heavier matte foundations I was wearing in the warm months.
To kick things off, I start by applying the Erborian BB Créme, which is the highest coverage bb cream I've ever used. It's lightweight but provides enough coverage to make most areas of redness or blemishes disappear. Bonus—it contains SPF, so it's perfect for those weekends when I just want to roll out of bed and explore the farmers market.
If I feel like I need a little additional coverage, I've been turning to the Lancome Miracle Cushion Liquid Cushion Compact Foundation. It's quite glowy and pairs well with the bb cream, and it adds just enough product to cover any red areas or blemishes peeping through. Because I have extremely oily skin, though, I can't leave these two on my face without setting them (unless I want them to slide off my face after a few hours). I've been setting these with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Warm Rose, which adds to the glowiness of the two base products but keeps them in place throughout the day.
Oh, and to apply the bb cream and the cushion foundation? I've found the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge really does do a miracle on these products. If you have a BeautyBlender, you'll get the same effect, but lately I've been on a Real Techniques sponge kick.
