New Drugstore Brushes—Are They Worth the Hype?
There are a number of makeup brush companies that rule the industry, and for the most part, the drugstore has been missing in the makeup brush race. Some of the best brushes out there will cost you an arm and a leg, and if you buy one, there goes your makeup budget for the rest of the month. I was thrilled to learn that Wet n Wild had come out with a line of new brushes that are all $2.99 or less. Hello, happy wallet!
I only found five I wanted at a local Walgreens, but the ones I picked up I'm seriously impressed with, especially the eyeshadow brushes. The two I bought are just stiff enough to pick up a lot of pigment from my shadows and apply them without much fallout. And the face brushes? They are so soft I almost didn't want to dirty with makeup. I bought the flat top brush, the contour brush, and the powder brush. The flat top brush is great for applying foundation and buffing it in. I like the contour brush for applying blush, and the powder brush is perfect for buffing everything together to make sure all the powder, highlighter, blush, bronzer, etc., are blended.
Overall, I think these are a great value—and they're beautiful brushes with a fun pop of pink! If you can find these at your local CVS or Walgreens, do yourself a favor and try one or two. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
