The Ultimate Hair Mask
In the past years, I've started heat-styling my naturally curly hair to be straighter and tamer, and my hair has taken a serious beating because of it. The ends are drier and damaged, and in an effort to keep my hair styled for a few days, I end up using more products. To cut own on product buildup, I use a clarifying shampoo, which in and of itself strips the hair of a lot of moisture. It's a vicious cycle.
I've tried without much luck to find a hair mask that repairs and rehydrates without leaving my hair feeling sticky or greasy. Can anyone else relate? I recently heard beauty blogger Estée Lalonde talk about her love for the Ouai Treatment Masques (created by celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin). She swears by them and leaves them in for hours to deep-condition her hair. She said the results were incredible, so the last time I was in Sephora, I picked up a three-pack. The results were magical.
After applying the mask and leaving it in for 5–10 minutes, it rinsed out really easily without leaving any sticky residue. After I blow-dried my hair, it felt incredibly soft and clean, and my hair was transformed. Days later, it still feels softer and more hydrated than it has in a long time. I have the feeling I'll be repurchasing these packets again and again to use every week. I'm addicted, and I'm attempting to get my roommate hooked, too.
