My 25th Year
I celebrated my 25th birthday this weekend; it's strange to think I'm halfway through my 20s. You'll see more of birthday celebrations on Wednesday with a new vlog (yay!). As I was approaching the big day, I took some time to contemplate what I want to do to make 25 my best year yet. Here's what I came up with:
- Be more aware of current events and world news. I normally watch Netflix or Hulu on my tablet as I get ready in the morning, but I plan on making the switch to listening to NPR most mornings to stay up-to-date on what's happening outside of my little world.
- Be more conscious about what I put in my body. As much as I love cupcakes and all things sweet, I'm really starting to realize I need to be more mindful of getting nutrients into my diet and eating more fruits and veggies.
- Embrace minimalism. I've realized more and more that when it comes to my wardrobe, I finally feel like I'm at a good place with what I have. When I'm shopping, I have a solid feel for what will work well with the items I currently own. I'm honest with myself in questioning my reason for buying an item: Is it because it's on sale, or is it because I really will wear this?
- Worry less. I like to have things planned out—and when things are out of my control, I tend to worry . . . a lot. But what does worrying about problems really do? Not much! I'm determined to make this year a worry-free year with a lot less anxiety and a lot more positivity.
